Marketing at Shift plays a pivotal role in both global brand presence and demand generation. The Digital Marketing and Operations function is responsible for scaling global digital programs, improving the efficacy of marketing processes, and measuring and reporting on key metrics to support marketing’s continued success. We are seeking a Marketing Operations Intern with an interest in documenting, scaling, and optimizing the martech ecosystem at Shift. This role is flex-remote and based in Boston, MA. You will be part of the Global Marketing Team reporting to Senior Manager, Digital Marketing.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the day-to-day triaging of ops-related requests from the global marketing team as they pertain to marketing automation and CRM, including but not limited to: workflows, landing pages or email testing, analytics and reporting. This responsibility will take approximately 1/3 of your time
  • Analyzing the efficiency and performance of digital and field marketing programs, providing recommendations to marketers where you see fit
  • Marketing data governance; ensuring the quality of contact, lead, and account data is accurate and stored in a logical and accessible way
  • Ongoing maintenance of marketing automation/CRM/3rd party tools which may include field mapping revisions and edits
  • Support the evolution of the marketing technology roadmap, by project managing new martech initiatives, conducting user testing, and launching changes to the global marketing team
  • Building new or amending existing reports and dashboards to be used by the Global Marketing Team; analysis of marketing campaign results
  • Documenting marketing technical process enhancements for user reference
  • Reconciliation of the marketing budget with a focus on discovering campaign level insights on media spend
  • Other duties as assigned or required by the Marketing Operations Manager or Head of Global Field Marketing
  • Opportunity to learn and work with the following tools: HubSpot, Salesforce, Asana, Allocadia, 6sense, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, GoToWebinar, SEMRush, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have completed 3+ years of a post-secondary degree and/or actively pursuing a business or master's degree
  • Based in Boston, MA
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
  • At least one prior experience with a marketing automation tool (HubSpot, Pardot, Marketo), CRM (e.g. Salesforce), and/or data integration tool (e.g. Zapier, PieSync)
  • Proficient in data manipulation within Google Sheets and Excel
  • Some knowledge of agile project management principles
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate cross-functionally with Field Marketing, Business Development, Sales Operations, and other teams
  • Pragmatic and serious about getting things done, but enjoy a sense of community at work
  • Data-driven: can use data to drive strategic marketing decisions

  • This is a 3-6 month internship with potential for full time after completion of degree
  • On the job hands-on training and mentorship
  • Must be able to work out of our Boston office once or twice a week
